I've always enjoyed sharing a birthday with the father of our country. So, I've been standing in the kitchen reading quotes from my favorite president while eating a piece of cherry pie (for breakfast! :) ) I like that first one because it makes absolute sense to me and is contrary to the desires of some very vocal citizens in our country. The companion quotation is

Profound, George! For the leader of a government by the people and for the people to acknowledge that it takes God and the Bible to make this type of government work, I wonder how anyone could disagree. Left to our sinful nature, this grand experiment would just flop.
