patience

The fruit of the Spirit is....patience. (Galatians 5) And I'm needing the Holy Spirit to produce much more of it in my life. I know because as Roger is out of town, I am finding my patience wearing thin way too much. I just came off a great weekend! So how can I keep from yelling at my kids. Patience! Its scary to ask for it because He will teach you. And learning patience won't be pleasant, I'm afraid. Ah well, I'd rather ask for something hard and hope to learn it quickly than to never learn it at all. I do miss my man~

I'm praying for you! (And Alex, and Katrina.) Where's Roger this week?

a cool bible study i've done recently said that the only way to the godly fruit of the spirit was to be challenged beyond our human limits ... i.e., it's easy to love the lovable, be joyous at joy-filled times, be patient when all is well ... but the harder times is when we learn to depend on the Spirit to work through us.

i'm not sure that 'knowledge' will help, but perhaps :)

struggling through with you, sherrie

It was interesting to look back and see some of the factors that made last week difficult. When I see how they add up, its easier for me to understand myself and hopefully let the Holy Spirit work in me more freely.

The heat, Alex was teething, my kids are entering new phases of development which mean they actually argue. All that coupled with us missing Daddy, and I can see why it was hard.

It is definitely in those times I need to offset the factors I can and depend on God for the wisdom to know what to offset and what to work through.
