A placemat is not a weapon!

This is what I heard coming from my dining area while I was putting the final prep on dinner last night. Boys are sure different from girls. In fact, I've picked up Bringing up Boys by Dobson again. I read it before Alex was born. Now that I'm seeing so many of these boy traits, I figure its time to read again.

Alex loves balls. And where Trina enjoyed them, he is actually differentiating between them now. Football is a big one...and I'm happy to say the Broncos logo was the first he was really able to recognize. But he has also taken the attachments from the vacuum and used them as a bat. I'm not a baseball fan...yet. But I may end up having to figure that out. Wouldn't that be a wonder if we ended up with the jock.

"Yeah, my mom and dad always come to the game...but its mostly to see the band." Yeah, so that wouldn't be true...cause it would be both to see him play AND to see the band. ;)

This entry really made me laugh as I could hear myself saying the same thing to my boys, and even Hannah. They will turn the simplest, most innocent looking things into weapons or things they can poke holes into walls with. Maybe I should read that book. :) They sure keep me on my toes.

Its really a good read. Has some of the science behind hormones and talks a lot about culture and how radical feminism has affected boys. It has some scripture references (not in KJV...but I'm sure you could look them up in KJV if you like), so its a good mix of science, psychology, and spiritual insight. If you read it, I'd be interested to see what you think.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to the game for the band...not at all. But if he were t play you would be so excited that the band would fade into the back ground...unless of course trina was in the band...the possibilties are endless with little ones aren't they? :) Heres hoping you have Jason Elams replacement living in your humble abode! (You know still plays football but doesn't have to deal with being tackled all the time!)
