Today I saw this question come up on Facebook.

If you were a food, what would you be… and why?

And I knew that I would be a crescent roll.
And I know I very well couldn't put that on the America's Test Kitchen page...because they are so classy and from scratch...and I'm more of a homey, easy, and occasionally homemade kinda cook.

Crescent Rolls are really comforting. They are great by themselves, but also flexible in use with other ingredients. Maybe a crust in a breakfast cassarole...maybe rolled up with ham and cheese for lunch...maybe surrounding a marshmallow and dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar to tell the story of the Resurrection. Crescent rolls are buttery and satisfying. Fancy, simple, sweet or savory. They can do it all.

OK...maybe I'm not a crescent roll...but a girl can dream!

Ode to Crescent Rolls

Yummy yummy golden bread
O how I love to eat you
Breakfast, lunch or in the night
your soft insides warm me
Even your dough delights me

Versatile beyond compare
Appetizers and Desserts
request you in their plan
Eight are never enough
especially when I have to share
