My obsession with books

is not compatible with my profession. I got into a novel this week, and although I have not completely ignored my children, I have given them far less attention than they deserve. I love reading...getting into the lives of fictional people and watching them grow and change. Its so much messier to do so in real life...people don't want to divulge all their struggles and mistakes for some reason.

I have now finished And the Shofar Blew by Francine Rivers and so you can be assured that I will be loving my kids better for the rest of the week than I did today.

Oh my gosh. I LOVE FRANCINE RIVERS. Have you read the Mark of the Lion trilogy? Because you completely should. They are amazing.

Yes, I have. I love that series! I've also read the Scarlet Thread and The Last Sin-Eater. I enjoy her writing.

I agree with Sarah. Rivers is a GREAT author and I totally understand getting wrapped up in her writing...I also see your point about the kids....sigh...life is so full of choices. Sometimes I bemoan the fact that I am single and don't have a family...then at other times I realize what an incredible thing this thing called singleness is. I just it is true one always wants what we don't have.

I fully agree with you all...Francine Rivers is amazing! I read Redeeming Love in about 2 days, I just could not put it down. I will have to read the Mark of the Lion now too!
