July 4th traditions

We had a nice day yesterday. We went to the same park we went to last year....it is right across the street from the park we went to the years before that since Trina was an infant (except when Alex was born...when we stayed home to sleep). It looks like the end of this era, to me. Although we may drive up for it next year as well. It was just the four of us this time. We got there late, and found a spot near the street. I read Mary Poppins to the kids while Roger blew some bubbles. Then the fireworks started. It was a really nice show. When Roger went back to get the car, I sang patriotic songs with the kids until he came. Trina said, "that was the best 4th of July I've ever seen."

My best 4ths were on the roof of my house in Arvada....just half mile from the Lutz ball park. We sat up there and watched people looking for a place to park and maybe letting someone we knew park in our driveway...we'd be eating homemade ice cream...and of course taking in the spectacular view of the fireworks. I haven't found anything to beat that tradition.

May God bless America! We sure need it!
