Cool picture huh? My friend Vera took it of her butterfly bushes a while back. I noticed more butterflies this summer than usual. I saw several up close and was just amazed. OK, so maybe all insects aren't horrible. I may just have to go to the Butterfly Pavilion after all.One thing about monarchs is I think their orange color reminds me fall, so even though we won't be seeing many around now, watching the leaves fall can have a similar effect...calming, I think.

i wish you could see the watercolor painting that your friend Vera's husband Glenn did based on this picture, or one very similar to it... sigh. the man may not be able to sing a single note in key, but God certainly gave him other talents.
He just gave all the singing in key and other musical talent to my mom (Vera). and a little bit to their daughters. hee hee. he also gave both of them a talent for gardening and a love of His natural world. i wish you could all walk through my mother's garden... and see my dad's fountain "mountain" in the front yard... with colorado blue columbines growing on it- by seed harvested by my dad in the rockies before moving back to indiana from denver...
can take the person out of the mountains, but you just can't take the mountains out of the person.
living in chicago is cool (go SOX) but i have to admit- i miss being in my parents' gardens and seeing the seasons change through a gardener's eyes...
A precious and beautful picture ... love the colors, thinking about how light and delicate butterflies are, the warmth of green ... ahhh
