Interesting article, and no doubt controversial.
I took my first two yoga classes this month. I have to say I never got anywhere near a hypnotic state because it took all my mental and physical concentration just to find and maintain the positions! All of the positions seem to enphasize body alignment (which resonates with my singing background) and muscle strengthening. It's really hard work!
So, I don't dispute the author's claims as she has surely done considerably more research than I. I can only say that from my limited personal experience, I sensed no demonic influences. And after all, I have the Holy Spirit living in me, and He generally lets me know when I'm headed in the wrong direction. Thank God for that!
